PHOTO ADVENTURES

Enjoy a free flowing photographic experience designed to make the most of Montana’s boundless natural beauty.

If you love the outdoors, and love to take photographs, the varied and wild terrain of Montana offers endless opportunities for photographic exploration. Thirty years of experience with trying to be in the right place at right time, for the best fishing and photo moments, allows me, as your photo guide, to link together options in flexible ways. This affords you a highly personalized and memorable photographic experience. PHOTO ADVENTURES offers beautiful geographical ranges and highly desirable points of interest as part of the travel agenda. Instead of sticking to a pre-set itinerary and planned stops, we will let weather, natural phenomena, and your interests, dictate the course of our journey. Along the way, you will photograph the many special moments of your experience.

You will experience and photograph spectacular vistas, towering mountains, rolling hills, ghost towns and other remnants of the old West. Silhouettes of barns and grain silos share the sky with striking cloud formations, and an abundance of native and migratory birds. Wildlife is plentiful, and found all around Montana’s abundant lakes and rivers. Rippling field grasses, colorful wild flowers and fascinating trees offer up countless scenes for macro photography. And… Montana’s clear mountain light bookends the days with richly colored sunrises and stunning sunsets.

Outdoor Photography Excursions, Montana

The focus of these trips is free flowing photography. These highly personal and flexible trips are designed to allow you to photograph what captures your interest. A wide variety of nature based photographic opportunities will be presented. While all levels of photographic skill, from beginner to professional, are suitable for these adventures, this is not a workshop about studying photography from a purely technical standpoint. This is where you come to maximize a photographic experience in Montana – with whatever skill level you have!

Attention will be given to landscape and wildlife photo techniques, associated functions of your camera, file processing and editing, and other areas in which you may need assistance. Attention will also be given to artistic image concerns such as lighting, color management and composition. Outdoor photography tips will also offered. These areas will be addressed in the course of your interactions with your camera and Montana’s photographic challenges.

Montana Nature Photography Workshops, Rowan Nyman

Thirty years of experience interacting with the natural world in Montana has made me an expert. I came here as a fly fishing guide and outdoor enthusiast, and have transformed into a landscape and wildlife photographer. My love of, and appreciation for, the incredible natural wealth of the area has done nothing but grow over the years. It is a pleasure to offer others an experience I am privileged to have on a regular basis – bouncing around on the back roads of Montana with a camera, exploring all there is to experience, and generally having a great time!
