Bumping around on backroads of the West is an adventure. The artistic design of the natural world is always offering up noteworthy moments, often in small things, like the intricate design of ice crystals along the shoreline of mountain rivers. I spend many hours capturing nature’s patterns and rhythms with my camera. Inside these captured moments are many visual ambiguities which imitate landscapes, and yet in reality are small bits of the outdoors. These images are an invitation to the curious – and an entrée into the mind of the world’s greatest artist – Mother Nature.
